Public Transport to UQ St Lucia / GCI
UQ St Lucia campus is well served by multiple public transport modes.
Major transit nodes & connections
- UQ Lakes Busway Station
This is a hub for many bus routes serving UQ’s St Lucia campus. Many buses cross the Eleanor Schonell Bridge (the “Green Bridge”) from Dutton Park / busway side into UQ Lakes. - Chancellor’s Place (UQ Bus Station)
This is another bus interchange on campus (serving routes from Toowong, Indooroopilly, the west, CBD). - UQ St Lucia Ferry Wharf / CityCat
The UQ St Lucia ferry wharf is served by RiverCity Ferries (CityCat). The ferry terminal is located adjacent to the UQ Lakes bus station and near the Eleanor Schonell Bridge. - Train + bus link options
Some nearby train stations: Toowong, Boggo Road / Park Road, Dutton Park. From these stations, you can catch buses (or walk / cycle) to UQ campus. For example: from Dutton Park, you can walk ~ 15 minutes to the Eleanor Schonell Bridge and cross into campus.
Getting from bus/ferry stops to GCI
- Once you arrive at UQ Lakes busway or the ferry terminal, it’s a short walk (via internal campus pathways) to reach Building 20 (GCI). Use the UQ Maps or campus signage.
- If you arrive via Chancellor’s Place bus station, you can walk across campus to GCI.
- The campus is pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly, so those last legs are typically walkable.
